Teen Life Introduction

Posted by mitchells on January 18, 2007

Hello everyone in the “Teen Life” project, my name is Mitchell S. and I am currently living in an international community. I am originally from Australia; however, I only lived there until I was four so I basically went through childhood elsewhere. At current I am thirteen going on 14 in May.
Well that was it for the basics about me, now we’ll move on to my hobbies. My absolute favourite thing to these days is to Mt. Bike ride. I love to do this because not only is it really fun and sometimes exciting but it is also good exercise and is a healthy thing to do. My second favourite thing to do now is water ski, but with a twist because you see I don’t have a boat I have a jet ski. When we go water skiing we don’t only water ski, we also just ride the jet ski and we tow a tube (which is about the best and most fun thing you can ever do), when I say a tube I mean a sort of inner tube with a special fabric case that you tie a rope to and connect the rope to the jet ski.
Now to talk about the country I live in. I have lived in this place for eight years now and it is fantastic it has all the things you need in life and more (the basic essentials of life et cetera). Not only those sort of things though, there is also a completely different view of living here that is also great, no offence to those of you who don’t but I believe it is very good for a child like myself to live in an international community for you learn so much extra like to be tolerant of different races and you learn all about so many different cultures. All in all (I think you can already tell) I absolutely love this place, it is my home to me, Australia should be but it truly isn’t.
Nowadays some certain things very close to me have gotten themselves in a bit of a sticky wicket, these things are animals. Animals these days that should be our friends have suddenly been turned into test dummies. As you have probably guessed I am strongly against animal cruelty and my least favourite thing ever is animal testing. I cannot believe some photos of dead lab rats and even lab cats sitting there dying in a cage, it’s horrid! The other week I even saw this disgusting person who was putting kittens in jars and making them grow up to form the shape of one so that this person eventually killed the cat and then sold the skeletons because they looked like jars, can you believe that? I couldn’t. I could never imagine my old dog being treated like that, oh yes I haven’t mentioned that yet, you see my parents got a dog after I was born so I now have a thirteen year old (ninety one in dog years) dog who’s name is Black Dog, can you guess what colour fur he has?
Well that’s it for my introduction; I hope you enjoyed reading it because I certainly can’t wait to read all of yours.

My name is Ashley.M from Mr.Fishers class in Canada. It think that is cruel what they do to animals. I feel bad for the like imagine if we were the animals. That would suck. I hate people who try to kill their cats or any animals. That is so sad:(

I’m also against animal cruelty. It’s cool that I found someone else against it. I have a black lab. well i enjoyed your reading your story.

    Hi Mitch!

I also think that animal cruelty is a very serious crime because animals are also living things. I think the story about the cat in the jar is very sad because making a cat die just to sell his jar-shaped skeleton is sick. Once I recieved a chain letter about animal cruelty and it showed a picture of someone stepping on top of a little kitten. I think that is a very bad crime.

    Well, bye!

PS: Comment on my blog please! Bye! :P
